The Building Green Bridges CWG: Pathway Support and Community College and Workforce Alignment -- a Model for Scaling Up to “14-18” and B2C Collaboration
Purpose:
The Building Green Bridges CWG links a new high school green building pathway, business, and Santa Fe Community College as a novel strategy to: 1) promote critically needed graduation success and workforce development; 2) devise the best pathway support mechanisms for expanding into the 4 additional tracks of the Academy of Sustainability (ASE) at Santa Fe High School such as construction and more; 3) engage Santa Fe businesses more closely with career pathways and begin development of a skills inventory matching student skill development with Santa Fe business needs; and 4) serve as a nucleus for aligning youth programs that can evolve into a “14-18” CWG on the B2C continuum.
In addition to workforce development, this Green Building/ASE/ business CWG addresses the B2C focus areas of K-12 student success, re-engagement of disconnected youth, mentorship, and community engagement and empowerment.
